Provide street trees on existing roads in inner city neighborhoods. Involve the community in their preservation and maintenance with financial incentives such as tax reductions and energy bill support.

Make rules that mature trees cannot be removed. The urban forest is a precious resource that is irreplaceable. Trees provide relief from heat islands, reduce air pollution, absorb storm runoff, create tranquility, increase property values because of their assets.
